Research in Toledo and Cuenca
In the framework of her research on images and cults of child saints in early modern Europe, Cloe Cavero conducted fieldwork and archival research in the ecclesiastical collections of Toledo and Cuenca.
The Archivo y Biblioteca Capitulares of Toledo Cathedral contain a large collection of medieval and early modern books, together with a wide range of documents including contracts of works of art, the Purity of Blood records of the cathedral chapter, papal bulls, royal privileges, wills, donations and the correspondence maintained with the Papal See. Besides this, the Archivo Municipal de Toledo and the Biblioteca de Castilla-Mancha – which is located inside the Alcázar of Toledo – also preserve early modern printed and manuscript sources coming from the private collections of notable archbishops, canons and local intellectuals.
